OH MY COW!!!! (As Lily would say)

I'm updating my blog!!!!! Everyone watch out! No, but seriously, don't get too excited. I have two rambunctious little children that suck up all the hours of all the days that I live so who really has time to blog? Not me. I just figured I would celebrate my one year non-blogging anniversary by....................BLOGGING!

So much has gone on in our lives over the past year. Both of the girls are doing so well and learning new and exciting things each day. Grace started pre-school with Grandma this year and she ♥'s it. Lily will start next year, but for now, big sissy Grace is teaching her everything she knows. The girls both had Dr.'s appt's a few weeks ago and when they weighed each of them we found out that they both weigh exactly 33.0 lbs. Grace is 3 ft 5 in. and Lily is 3 ft 3 in. Crazy to think that they are 15 months apart.

In October of last year I tore a ligament pretty bad in my knee and finally in March I decided to have surgery to correct that (and a host of other problems with my knee). It was a pretty brutal and unfriendly surgery (my opinion) and made things pretty difficult for several months. We stayed at my parents' house in the guestroom for one month so I could recover. We had a ton of help from everyone which made it so much easier than if we had lived somewhere else. The ward brought dinner to us 3 x a week for 6 weeks, our parents babysat while Josh was at work, Lisa and Emily cleaned our whole house for us when we came home.....all kinds of good stuff. It has been 7 months since the surgery and earlier this week I started training to run my very first 1/2 marathon next March. I wanted to set a goal of one year from when I had surgery and Josh found one on March 27, 2011 (my surgery was March 29, 2010). So that is the plan!

Josh and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary with a trip to Costa Rica for a week. It was such an amazing place, like nothing I've ever seen. We stayed at a bed and breakfast and had our own private bungalow. There were only three on the property and we ended up getting to know another couple from Texas pretty well who were also staying there. We never even saw the other guests, it was like we were the only ones there. The last day we went 4 wheeling and zip lining through the jungle. It was a lot of fun, but we were so ready to come home to our babies.
Lily turned three in August and had a Hello Kitty party. She was the cutest three year old ever- and still is! She has such a fun personality and is so curious about everything. She wants to know what things are, how they work, where they come from, how big of a mess she can make with them, and most important.....how much she can get away with at one time. (It is usually quite a bit.)

And to top it all off, my youngest brother got married in August and they are here in town this weekend. I'm going to be an Auntie!!!

TOUGH DAY AT THE OFFICE...

The girls had a really tough day today. They woke up from a very peaceful sleep this morning only to come lay on the couches while they watched Mickey Mouse Club House...

...then they helped me get some orders packaged by putting little candies in the bags...

...after that we went up to the park with Holly and her kids where I got to lounge in my new favorite flats...

...the girls played...

...and played...

...and played...

...then we had a picnic...

...and played some more...

...after that we came home, took naps, and now we are making cookies. It really is tough, but they are both very dedicated to their work as you can see!

LISA'S 50TH BIRTHDAY...

Lisa turned 50 this past Saturday and we threw her a surprise party. Josh, the girls and I took Bob and Lisa to Mon Ami Gabi for a great breakfast, then we went shopping at the outlets for a while. Afterward, Bob took Lisa to a movie while we got everything ready for the big surprise. It was a busy day, but we all had great food and lots of fun.

Happy Birthday!

ART PROJECT...

Here is a quick peek at an art project I'm working on for Grace and Lily's room. You try to find the letters of the alphabet through photographing different objects. It is a little more challenging than I thought it would be, but really fun.

CARNIES AND PUMPKINS...

We took the girls to the pumpkin patch on Saturday night and I think it was the highlight of Grace's year. She has been asking to go back since we took them last year. Josh's parent's met us there and we walked around, played, and ate way too much garbage. My favorite thing about carnivals is none other than THE CARNIES themselves!!! I love it. The girl operating the dragon ride (pictured below) looked like she just hated life. She texted the entire time she was operating the ride (hmmmmm.....), and Josh noticed four, yes four, delicious hickeys on one side of her neck. After that we got some food and the pregnant girl who was making our fries lifted up her shirt to show a lady standing in line all of her stretch marks. Gotta love it! We took the girls home and rinsed off all the carnie juice in the shower and they went straight
to bed. Grace is already asking to go back.........
